Spearco 2-178 Front Mount Intercooler Install

Estimated cost $770, estimated install time 6 hrs start to finish.

Unless you feel like manipulating around the power steering cooler line, you can just loop the line and elimanate the cooler. We are in a Chicago climate and so far it has gotten up to about 86 degrees and I still have had no issues with the power steering.

In order to fit the shorter lower interooler pipe the factory fans had to be removed. The other pipe is simply run to the stock location for the time being for simplicity reasons. Although after the install I suffered form overheating problems so now the factory AC fan is re installed and has helped with the over heating. The other stock fan might be able to be used if you purchased an actual J-pipe form somewhere like RRE, or rotated the compressor housing to make it like a 20G outlet. I pulled the one 14" fan and replaced it with a 12" pusher and a 10" puller fan on the one side .

This is the bracket that I made out of L shaped stell stock, I plan on redoing these also with a little bit heavy duty material as the intercooler is sagging a little bit mor then I was hoping. All I did was ned the L stock and welded the seem. You can also see in the right hand picture that the intercooler is at a slight reward angle, I will fix this also with the brackets.

Unfortunetly I havent had a chance to move the stock oil cooler to a better location. I am going to redo the stock lines on the cooler with -8 lines so that I can move it to the fender well in front of where the fog light used to be. Seems like the oil cooler is transfering some extra heat into the cooling system, which I think is contributing to my overheating problem. Also lost my stock overflow bottle somewhere on I-90 so I replced it with this one.
